Unawatuna is a popular seaside resort in the south of Sri Lanka. The white sandy beach, turquoise lagoon and palm trees create a tropical vacation feeling. But Unawatuna also has a lot to offer underwater.

Numerous diving spots can be reached from Unawatuna, which are suitable for beginners and advanced divers alike. The underwater world is diverse and is home to a variety of marine life, including:

Weligama is a small fishing village in the south of Sri Lanka. It is known for its beautiful beach, but also for its diverse underwater world. The sea off Weligama is a popular destination for divers looking for challenges.

Dispa Rock: Dispa Rock is a popular diving spot for advanced divers. The reef lies at a depth of 32 meters and is known for its great variety of marine life. Here you can observe whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, barracudas and many other fish.

Yala Rock: Yala Rock is another diving spot for advanced divers. The reef lies at a depth of 20 meters and is known for its colourful corals and variety of fish. Here you can observe lobsters, turtles, moray eels and many other sea creatures.

Patch Point: Patch Point is a dive site for advanced divers, characterized by its steep topography. The reef drops off in steep slopes and provides a habitat for a variety of marine life. Here you can observe sharks, rays, barracudas and many other fish.
